Handpainted watercolor on silk by Kristine Baker.  Exclusive design based on The Gamble House living room rug.  Two sizes available.

8x54" Without Fringe $90.00
14x72" With Fringe *OUT OF STOCK

Kristine worked patiently with us to create the perfect design for this beautiful silk scarf.  The design is drawn onto each scarf, then painted with the 10 colors, dried, steamed, cooled down, and then finally hand washed and hung to dry.  The Arts and Crafts Movement is all about individual art and doing hand work, so we love that this scarf really embodies that process.

From the back cover:

"With a birthday in January, Clarence James Gamble was just fourteen years old in March of 1908, when he, his seventeen-year-old brother, Sidney, and his parents, David and Mary Gamble, left Cincinnati, Ohio, for a lengthy tour of the Orient that included ten weeks in Japan. Once there, Clarence and Sidney took many, many photos, a hundred and twenty of which have been left to posterity. Here is a glimpse into a Japan long lost, as seen by the travelling Gambles in 1908."
