Eclipsing Circles is adapted from a rug design Wright designed for the living room of the Max Hoffman residence in Rye, New York (1957). The rug was never executed for the Hoffman House, but was later woven for the living room at Taliesin, Wright's home in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
