While the world moved
forward in technology, Edgar Miller continued to throw himself into the
original craftsman skills. He was a fine painter, master woodcarver,
and one of America's top stained glass designers. Named "Chicago's
Forgotten Renaissance Man," Miller's skill and talent were lauded in
his time; he is now overlooked as his art was meant to hang in the
homes he created, rather than in museums. The homes still exist,
amazingly, and while they have changed a bit over time, much of
Miller's laborings and spirit of honesty and beauty in
craftsmanship remains.
