Pen and Ink Drawing by Russell Hobbs. Boxed Set of 8 individually sleeved cards.
From the back of each notecard:
"Built in 1908, this house is an outstanding example of the design and workmanship of the famous architectural firm of Greene and Greene. It is the best-preserved example of The American Craftsman Movement. The architects went beyond the design of the structure to include landscaping, interior design, and such diverse specialties as rugs, furniture, stained glass, light fixtures, hardware and picture frames as part of their design competence.
The basic structure is Oregon pine, with lesser amount of redwood and oak; and the exterior is sheathed with hand-split cedar shakes. The interior wood - teak, mahogany, and Port Orford cedar - was hand-polished to a glass-like finish.
On January 25, 1966, the Gamble family presented the deed to the Gamble House to the City of Pasadena in a joint agreement with the University of Southern California. In 1986, The Department of the Interior recorded the Gamble House in the national archives."
